G1/2 is a 1/2-inch parallel pipe thread defined by ISO 228. It is widely used in Europe, Australia and Asia. Unlike tapered NPT threads, G1/2 seals with a flat washer or O-ring against the face of the valve body.
A good commercial basin faucet flow rate is 4–6 L/min (1.1–1.6 GPM) for offices and hotels, and 3–5 L/min for high-traffic public restrooms. Healthcare scrub stations may need up to 9 L/min for effective hand washing.
